Animals & Their Habitats

My third graders are currently in a unit about animals and their habitat in Science. They are working on a diorama as a group project for their assessment. They made the diorama using a cardboard box. The materials they use vary depending on their creativity. Some use origami papers to cover the box, some paint it. Some use cut-outs pictures for the animals and plants models, some use clays, and some use dummies. They are all very excited to work on this project.

Here are some pictures of them on their first session doing the project. Some groups' diorama has taken shape. They still have 4 more sessions (@ 35 mins) to finish their project.

BINUS Radio #1

This is my very first BINUS Radio programme, a recorded school radio programme involving students as radio announcers, reporters, and music directors. Of course, there are still a lot of improvements to be made. I'm a newbie also in all this recording technicality. But this is a brand new programme in our school. All of the students were excited to hear their friends' voices aired through the school internal speakers over their break time.

Listen to it and leave your feedback!

Inviting and Replying

Everybody loves parties! Now it's time for the students to create their own party invitation card and reply the invitation, both orally and written.

Students' instructions:

1. Create an invitation card.
2. Pick a magic stick to decide a classmate you are going to invite. Give your invitation card to him/her.
3. Write a reply letter for the person who invite you.
4. Take turns to give the reply letter while politely say your response.

Skip Counting Strings

  1. Students write the skip counting numbers on the paper, one number each. Decorate.
  2. Students string up the numbers in order.
  3. Memorize and create a skip counting song using an existing song melody. Change the lyrics with the numbers.
  4. Sing it and have fun!
